Renew roadtax online MyEG vs JPJ counter, which better?

First time renewing roadtax myself. MyEG charges a service fee. Worth paying that or better go the JPJ counter?

For convenience, online wins easily, the small service charge (few ringgit) is worth not queuing at JPJ or Pos. Options: MyEG (delivers the roadtax sticker to your door, charges a service fee plus delivery), the official JPJ MyJPJ app (now you often don't even need a physical sticker, digital roadtax, cheaper), Pos Malaysia counter, or your insurance provider's renewal (they often bundle roadtax with your insurance renewal). Cheapest is doing it yourself via MyJPJ app or at Pos, MyEG is the priciest but most convenient with doorstep delivery. One key thing: you MUST renew your insurance/takaful FIRST before roadtax, roadtax cannot be renewed without active insurance. Since it's your first time, renewing through your insurance agent who bundles both is honestly the easiest, they handle insurance plus roadtax together. Once you comfortable, the MyJPJ digital route is cheapest for future years.

I use MyEG every year, few ringgit service charge but the roadtax comes to my house in a few days, no need to queue anywhere. For me time is worth more than saving RM5. But make sure your insurance is renewed first or the system won't let you proceed.

Try the official MyJPJ app, roadtax is going digital so many cars don't even need the physical sticker on windscreen now. Cheapest because no middleman service charge. But if you want the physical sticker or your area still checks it, MyEG delivery is fine.

These days I just renew both insurance and roadtax through my insurance agent in one go via WhatsApp, he sends everything and I pay online. Zero queue, zero MyEG fee sometimes. Ask your agent, most offer this now. Cheapest and easiest combo.
