JPJ
Government
JPJ (Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan), the Road Transport Department, is the agency that regulates vehicles and drivers in Malaysia. It handles vehicle registration, ownership transfers, number plates, road tax issuance, and driving licences, as well as enforcement of road transport laws and summonses. Many services can now be done online or at JPJ counters and appointed agents. Common dealings include renewing a licence, transferring a used car, or settling JPJ summonses. It works alongside the police and Puspakom on vehicle inspection and enforcement. Procedures, fees, and online services offered are set by JPJ and subject to the latest rules.
