Long distance relationship KL-JB, how to make it work?
My girlfriend got posted to JB for work, I stay in KL. Now we only meet once a month, both tired from the distance and starting to argue more over small things. Anyone survived LDR within Malaysia and how you keep it strong?

Did KL-Penang LDR for 2 years, now married. It is doable but needs effort from both. What worked: (1) Have a shared END GOAL and timeline - "we will both be in the same city by X" - LDR without a finish line drains people. (2) Schedule regular calls but also just do normal things together over video (makan sama sama on call, watch same show). Quality over just frequency. (3) Plan the visits ahead so you both have something to look forward to, alternate who travels (the KL-JB bus/flight/drive is manageable). (4) The small arguments usually come from feeling insecure or tired - communicate feelings early, dont let it simmer. (5) Trust is everything, dont play detective. If both of you commit to the goal, the distance is temporary. Cheaper to visit within Malaysia than international LDR, count your blessings there lah.

Once a month is quite little, can you push for twice? KL-JB is only a short flight (AirAsia promo cheap) or a night bus. Even a quick weekend helps a lot. We alternated - I go one weekend, she comes next. The regular reunions kept us sane. Budget a bit for travel, treat it as relationship investment.

Honest question you both need to answer - is one of you willing to relocate eventually? LDR is a phase, not a permanent setup. If neither will move, then discuss that openly now. Better an honest talk than slowly drifting and resenting each other. Small arguments often are really about this unspoken bigger question.
