MNC or GLC, which one better for long term career?

I got two offers, one MNC (Penang) and one GLC in KL. MNC pays higher but GLC more stable and got EPF top up. I am 27, first time changing job. Which one worth it for the next 5 years ah?

I worked 6 years MNC then jumped to GLC, so I can compare lah. MNC learning curve very steep, you grow fast and the name looks power on resume. But retrench happen fast also, my whole team kena during 2020. GLC slower, more politics and paperwork, but the stability and benefits (extra EPF, medical for family, longer maternity) are real. At 27 I say go MNC first, build your skill and market value while young. Save the GLC for later when you want to slow down and start family. Just make sure you actually get exposure at the MNC, some places just use you as cheap labour only.

Check the actual EPF contribution rate for the GLC. Some GLC contribute up to 15-16% employer portion, that is basically free money for your retirement. Over 5 years that adds up a lot more than the MNC monthly difference. Do the math properly before decide, dont just look at take home pay.

Bro just take the higher gaji one while you young. Compound your savings and invest, dont think so much about 5 years plan, market change so fast. My friend loyal to one company 8 years, end up his junior who job hop earn more than him now.

Depends on your personality one. I am GLC 9 years already and I damn happy, work life balance solid, boss cannot simply fire you, and the pension type benefits no joke. But ya lor the pace slow, some colleague come work like retire already. If you ambitious and want to climb fast, GLC will frustrate you. If you value stability and got family plan, GLC very worth. Penang MNC also means cheaper cost of living than KL, dont forget that part.
