For minor illness, better go company panel clinic or klinik kesihatan?

New to working life. When demam or batuk, should I use company panel clinic (free with card) or just go government klinik kesihatan RM1? What is the actual difference and when should I go hospital?

Panel clinic all the way for minor stuff lah - free with your medical card, fast, no long queue, and you get MC easily if you need to rest. Klinik kesihatan RM1 is super cheap but the wait can be 2-3 hours, and they very busy. Save klinik kesihatan/government hospital for when you have no panel coverage, need specialist, or serious condition (they got proper facilities and cheaper for big treatments). For demam batuk selesema, just go panel clinic near your office. Keep the card in your wallet. Only go hospital emergency (A&E) if chest pain, high fever not going down, breathing difficulty, or accident.

One thing about panel - got limit usually (like RM50-80 per visit or annual cap). Check your policy. If they prescribe expensive stuff over the limit you top up. For chronic condition or follow-up, government cheaper long run. I manage my diabetes at klinik kesihatan, very affordable and consistent.

Download the panel clinic list from your HR or insurer app first. Some people go non-panel then cannot claim, pay from own pocket. Also keep receipts if you pay first claim later. Learned the hard way when I went a nearby clinic that wasnt on the list.
