But tone is everything. Say it humbly: 'I wanted to be upfront out of respect for your time, I have other offers pending but this role is my top choice, could we align on timelines?' That last part, 'this is my top choice', is crucial, it tells them you're not just using them for leverage. Don't overplay it or set aggressive ultimatums, that reads as entitled and some managers will call your bluff by letting you walk. Be honest, humble, and clear about your timeline. Works well in my experience.

I've done this and it can work if handled with tact, not arrogance. Instead of bragging 'I have two offers so hurry up', frame it around timeline and honesty: 'I'm very interested in this role, I do want to be transparent that I'm in advanced stages with other opportunities and need to make a decision by X date, is it possible to know your timeline?' This creates urgency AND respects them. It signals you're in demand without being cocky. In my case it made HR expedite their process and I even got a slightly better offer. But only do this if it's TRUE, never bluff, Malaysia's professional circles are small and word gets around. If you fake competing offers and get caught, you're done. Honesty plus a genuine deadline is the winning combo.
