Interviewer asked why I left my last job after only 6 months, how to answer?

Then pivot to why THIS job excites you. Avoid drama and specifics about the toxicity. Interviewers care more about your attitude and how you talk about difficulty than the reason itself. Stay calm, professional and positive. If pushed, you can mention a couple of neutral factors (role mismatch, direction change) without trashing anyone. Practice saying it out loud so it sounds natural, not bitter.
